Governance & Management of the Parish Hall

Pencombe & Little Cowarne Parish Hall is run in accordance with the Governing Document of 1976 (constitution), as amended in 1997. This names Pencombe Group Parish Council as the Custodian Trustee, a corporate body appointed to hold the legal title of the asset.

The hall is managed on a day to day basis by the Pencombe & Little Cowarne Parish Hall Management Committee made up of a team of local volunteers who care for, maintain and manage the parish hall for the benefit of the whole community.  Some members of the committee are elected and some are nominated by local organisations.

The Lease Agreement 1998 formerly transfers the land use and responsibilities from the Parish Council to the Management Committee.

As Pencombe & Little Cowarne Parish Hall is a registered charity, committee members are required by the governing document (constitution) to be trustees of the charity.  As such, they are responsible for ensuring the hall is operated in accordance with the relevant Charity Commission regulations.
